This middle part was for me, what makes virga the perfect metaphor for thwarted romantic connection. “Arid seething heart, despairs for true embraces, rejecting caress.” The true, sincere gestures evaporate before they touch the heart. xo
I’m fascinated by the multitude of what I’d call “inverse reactions” we have, ranging from purely physical to emotional. For example, when we start to freeze we remove our clothes, or someone who is starving must be fed by IV first as food will not be tolerated. So too with dehydration. And so too, apparently, for the starving heart.
Especially the starving heart. It needs a lot of unconditional, no strings attached love before it can learn to trust. Your posts just inspire me wax philosophical. I appreciate your amazing mind, Nadia. xo
