Sur la Plage

dawn-scatters-petals

I am where I belong.
On the fringe.
Sur la plage.
At the eastern-most edge of land.
I sit in darkness, anticipating Dawn.
Curious
What palette will she use this day?
Scattering her petals,
Heralding the Sun.
Will she choose correctly?
Or seeing the Sun beyond the horizon
Change palettes to suit his mood?
I wait eager, when will the
Sun’s disk
Breach the horizon?
Watch as he reveals himself.
Spreads his golden carpet across the sea,
To the shore
Bathing me in the light of
Endless possibilities.

  1. I should be able to do better than this, but: Love your work! ( text and photos ) Stunning images : middle image / feminine, bottom image/ masculine. Not sexist, I hope.

  2. You continue to amaze me. Seeing what you see, but with your words, brings a feeling of life as it must have been intended for the fortunate. I never stop realizing I stumbled into a pool made brilliant by your unparalleled ability to turn beauty into words.

  5. Hi Nadia – so nice to see your work again! It’s clear the sea air is feeding your creative brilliance. And double goosebumps from the poem to Paul’s comment – wow, what a beautiful sentiment for your beautiful work.
